Last Updated 31 October 2012, 19:33 IST

The Karnataka government on Wednesday told the High Court that it has withdrawn the circular on hoisting of the ‘Kannada flag’ during the Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations.

Prakash Shetty, a Bangalore-based advocate, had moved the Court claiming that there was no official status for the flag, being hoisted during the State functions, particularly on the Rajyotsava Day.

According to the circular issued by the government, the flag had to be hoisted atop all government offices, schools and colleges on November 1.

Government counsel R Devdas submitted that the circular directing the deputy commissioners to hoist the yellow and red colour flag has been withdrawn on October 4, 2012.
