Youth murdered in gang war

Owing to old enmity, a youth was murdered and another grievously injured in a gang war at Channarayapatna on Tuesday night.

A clash between two gangs triggered a brutal attack with armed youth stabbing Chethan (24) of Dindagur in his chest to death. Paramesh of Kalenahalli suffered severe injuries and has been shifted to hospital in Bangalore after being treated at a town hospital.
Police have seized two knives, one machete and two motorbikes.

A case has been registered against Chethu of Yachenahalli and seven others on charges of attack with lethal weapons. Blood soaked machete and knive was found on the spot and have been the strong witness to the incident.

DySP M Pradeep Kumar visited the spot.   The fight between two gangs  began on Kote road and Chethu and seven others stabbed Chethan in his chest to death. Later, Paramesh was chased to a distance before he suffered a stab in his abdomen.

Paramesh who was lying in a pool of blood was rushed to hospital in town and later shifted to Bangalore for further treatment. Shivakumar Gaddebindenahalli who was with Chethan and Paramesh at the time of the attack has escaped without any injury.
Chethu and group have gone into hiding after the murder.

The gangs of Baragur Viji and Yachenahalli Chetu are known for internal wars. Three months back Chethu was injured in an attack by Viji’s gang and was discharged from hospital recently. A case had been registered against Viji. Viji recently surrendered before the police and is in jail. Paramesh is also facing several charges, Inspector A Marappatold media.
