The BJP which is gearing up to face the forthcoming Assembly elections, has come up with a series of programmes for the next two months, to activate the party machinery. As a first step, the BJP district leaders extension meetings are held in all the districts of the State on November 3, 4 and 5

.

Speaking to media persons, BJP State Vice-President and MLC Bhanuprakash who was in the city to attend the party leaders extension meeting on Saturday, said that the BJP will organise a state-wide campaign against corruption by the UPA government from November 10 to 20.

In the party meeting held at Suraj Kund in September, it was decided to initiate a campaign against corruption. A training cum workshop was organised to the party workers in all the constituencies last month to bring awareness among them about various scams by the Central government. The trained party workers accompanied by the leaders will take up the campaign this month, he said.

As a part of the programme series, booth level workers conventions will be held from November 21 to 30. During the first week of December, the convention of beneficiaries will be organised in all the districts which will be attended by the District-in-Charge Ministers and the party MLAs.

Reacting to the statements made against the party and party leaders by Basavaraj who is the BJP MP from Tumkur, Bhanuprakash said that he would urge the State BJP President to take action against the MP who is crossing the boundaries.

“Basavaraj who has won the election with the support of the BJP, is now speaking ill about the party and party leaders which is against the party standards. Hence, I would insist on convening the district committee meeting to discuss the matter and submit a report to the party’s national committee,” he said.

Stating that former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa is still respected by the party men, he said efforts are taking place in the party’s central leadership to retain him in the BJP.
The extension meeting was attended by Deputy Speaker N Yogish Bhat, BJP State SC Morcha President A R Krishnamurthy and others.
