The Karnataka Chitrakala Academy had selected six artists for its annual awards in the field of fine arts for the years 2011 and 2012. The awardees are:
2011: S Krishnappa, Bangalore; U Ramesh Rao, Udupi; Ashok Akki, Gadag.
2012: Devendra M Badigar, Dharwad; P B Hasanur, Tumkur and I M Dange, Bagalkot. Academy Chairperson C S Krishna Setty said the award carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000, a citation and momento.
