Last Updated 13 November 2012, 17:23 IST

Finance Minister P Chidambaram will meet heads of public sector banks on November 15 and review a host of issues, including their financial performance and credit flow to productive sector in the light of subdued economic activity.

The broad agenda of the meeting includes review of first-half numbers, deteriorating asset quality, credit growth, official sources said.

This is the second meeting of the Finance Minister with the PSB chiefs after he took over on August 1. This time, the meeting is expected to take up issues related to credit flow to agriculture, micro and small enterprises, housing, weaker sections and credit-deposit ratio, according to sources.

The meeting comes against the backdrop of the half-yearly review of monetary policy by RBI last month, wherein the central bank left key policy rates unchanged on concern of sticky inflation.
