'Pseudo greens behind row over Jamma land'

Madikeri, Nov 13, 2012, DHNS :

Former MLC A K Subbaiah has said that pseudo environmentalists were responsible for row over Jamma land in Kodagu.

Speaking to presspersons here on Tuesday, he said that the Assembly had passed Karnataka Land Revenue (Amendment) Act, to solve the row. However, it was the  pseudo environmentalists who had misguided the Governor to act against, by not giving assent to the Act.

“The pseudo environmentalists are levelling allegations against Assembly Speaker K G Bopaiah, and thus create confusion in the minds of the people. There is a need to work towards the development of the district. The pseudo environmentalists should be sent out of the district,” he said.

He flayed Minister Appachu Ranjan’s direction to stop the survey work on high- tension wire which will pass through the district. There is a need to take up development work in the district. If any one has incurred loss, then compensation should be paid. However, it is not right to oppose all kind of development work, he said.

No harm

Subbaiah said that there was no harm from the white revolution. The communal organisations have been opposing the hybrid variety of cattle and demanding measures to check cow slaughter.

“It is left to the discretion of the owner to rear the cattle or sell it,” he said.

‘No Naxals’

He said that the appearance of Maoists in Kodagu is a false news.

“The ANF has been carrying out combing operations to utilise the funds. The accused are not Maoists. There is a need to bring Maoists to the mainstream, as they are following a wrong path,” he said.
