JOIN USA clerk with the Haryana Power Distribution Corporation’s sub-division in Karnal has been placed under suspension for alleged negligence of duty.
Its chairman and managing director, Devender Singh, ordered to place the Sumer Chand under suspension on Saturday evening after surprise checking, said an official.
An industrial category connection having 48 KW load had been released at Karnal on August 17 and about 16,000 units of electricity had been consumed. “It was the responsibility of the ledger clerk to send advise to computer section to generate the bill amounting to Rs 1.15 lakh. But the official did not send advise till date to the computer section for billing, resulting in delay,” the official added.
A public representative had earlier claimed before Singh that officials were not preparing bills carefully, whose heavy amount was a reason for default at the consumer’s end.
