Ready to face early polls: CM

Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar said on Monday that the BJP was ready to face elections, if they were held in February.

However, he told reporters in the city that he was confident of his government completing its term, till May.

Shettar said former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa expressing regret for his outbursts against senior BJP leader L K Advani was a positive gesture.

On the reorganisation of taluks, he said a majority of the people wish that the Assembly constituencies be converted into taluk units for administrative purposes.

  “The opinion of all legislators will be elicited before taking a decision. A Cabinet sub-committee will be constituted to look into the issue,” he said.
