Music maestro to support child rights initiative

Jaipur, Nov 19, 2012, DHNS:

Grammy Award winning music maestro Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt has decided to  back a network supporting child rights and will create awareness on the issue during his shows.

Pandit Bhatt, expressed concern over the lack of awareness on violation of child rights and hoped that his advocacy would bring about a significant change. Eminent persons joining the network will work to ensure the well-being of children in terms of health, nutrition, education and protection and try to improve children’s access to services through knowledge, attitude and behaviour as well as through communication and media advocacy.

The network will be launched on a pilot basis at Kapil Gyanpeeth Auditorium in Uma Bharati School in Mansarovar on Tuesday to mark the 23rd anniversary of adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).

Media advocacy institution, Lok Samvad Sansthan will help establish the network. It is a community-managed initiative with a panel of well known personalities.
