JOIN USThe Centre on Monday decided to clear all legal hurdles in the way of early resumption of operations at the defunct Bharat Gold Mines Limited (BGML) at Kolar Gold Fields in Karnataka.
At a high level meeting chaired by Mining Minister Dinsha Patel here, it was decided to file an affidavit in the Supreme Court giving the road map for the resumption of mining.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Law and Justice Ashwini Kumar, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises K H Muniyappa, Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office V Narayansamy.
Though the Union Cabinet in 2006 had decided to restart mining operations at KGF, it was not implemented due to differences among the various employees unions, Minister Muniyappa told reporters here.
