The Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Tamil Nadu ended in a listless draw on the fourth and the last day at the Ferozeshah Kotla stadium on Tuesday.

Delhi, who bowled out Tamil Nadu for 226 after posting of 555 in the first innings and enforced follow on, could not repeat their third day’s performance, when they took 10 wickets. The visitors, too, produced stout resistance, losing only a wicket each in the first two sessions.

Opener K B Arun Karthik dug in his heels for an unbeaten 121 (217balls, 20x4, 2x6) and along with S Badrinath (45), he two forged a 103-run partnership for the third wicket as Tamil Nadu racked up 220/2 in 77 overs. Play was called off at the start of the mandatory overs.

By virtue of the first innings lead, Delhi got three points and Tamil Nadu one. Odisha defeating Karnataka in Bangalore has shuffled the positions in the Group B. Odisha now holds the top spot with 13 points, followed by Baroda who are also on 13 points but behind on run rate.

Delhi, with one loss, one win and two draws are in third place with 11 points. Tamil Nadu, last year’s runners-up, are struggling at fifth place with nine points.
