Anti-Corruption crusader Anna Hazare on Thursday appealed to the people to get ready for a second war of independence to bring in real change and freedom in the country.

“Sixty five years have passed since the country became independent. But nothing has changed. We still face corruption, goondaism and oppression. Only ‘gore’(the white people) have been replaced by ‘kaale’(the black people). Therefore, we have to fight another war of independence to bring in actual change in the country”, he said while addressing a gathering of India Against Corruption (IAC) activists here.

The Gandhian, however, made it clear that the battle for change cannot be won overnight. “We have to be ready for a long struggle which may continue for 15 to 20 years”, he said adding that the youth should come forward to lead the battle. To change the country, he also stressed on the need to send competent and honest people to the Parliament.
“Change will not come if good people will not go to Parliament. Therefore, we have to elect competent candidates in the elections”, he said.

Anna reiterated that he would support the candidates of Arvind Kejriwal and his newly floated political outfit Aam Admi Party if he found them to be suitable.

“I and Arvind have gone separate ways but our aim is one. I will campaign for his candidates if I found them suitable”, he said adding that he would be touring the entire country from January next year and his tour will continue till the 2014 general elections.Hazare, who is in Odisha on a three-day tour, is scheduled to address a farmers’ rally in coastal Jagatsinghpur district on Friday.
