Hundreds of people, who had arrived from the nook and corner of the Tulu Nadu, gathered at Kadri Kambala field to witness great culture and heritage, they posses.

In fact, the affinity towards the culture made this year’s Kadri Kambala a memorable one, even though there was drop in the number of participating teams this year.

The story does not ends there…Deccan Herald met a young ‘guy’, Guy Golan, who came all the way from the Promised Land, Israel, to watch the confluence of culture in Tulu Nadu.

Golan, who visited Dharmasthala and Kolli village near Belthangady before coming to Mangalore, also witnessed the Kambala at Kolli.

“I was so impressed by the buffalo race I watched. It was very exciting and breath-taking,” he said. “Even though I like the atmosphere here and the games conducted, the Kambala at Kolli still stands out for me,’ he added.

Guy Golan has come to India after a three-year service in IDF, the Israeli Defence Forces, after his studies. Golan, who started his ‘exploring India’ from Delhi, has already covered almost all the major tourist hot spots in India.

“India gave me all wonderful experience. There in Israel, we don’t have these kinds of races, but probably some thing like horse races, which I have not yet watched.

In Israel, we have to undergo compulsory Army service for three years, and Indian cities refreshed me really,’ said Golan, who almost finished his three month expedition in India.
