Woman kills children, ends life

Depressed over family problems, a woman allegedly drowned her two children in the Doodhganga River near Bedkihal in Chikkodi taluk, before commiting suicide.
Saddened by the events, her husband, Anil Sutar, (26), hanged himself at his home on Tuesday.
Police said that Sarika Sutar (23) had been missing since Saturday with her son, Om (4) and daughter, Gouri (2). The family had faced several problems owing to Sutar’s addiction to alcohol, which had resulted in several feuds in the village.
According to police, Sarika first drowned the children before jumping into the river herself.
The bodies were found after they drifted to shore on Tuesday. Sadalga police have registered a case.
