Speeding lorry mows down senior citizen
A nonagenarian woman was mowed down by a speeding lorry while she was crossing the road near KR Puram railway station on Friday.
According to police, the accident occurred when Jayameri, 95, a resident of A Narayanapura, was crossing the road. The driver of the lorry lost control over the vehicle when he spotted the pedestrian, and mowed her down, police said. The driver has been arrested.
Woman found dead
A 26-year-old woman was found dead hanging from a ceiling fan at her Chandra Layout residence recently.
According to police, Shwetha was married to Basavaraju, a year ago. Basavaraj, who had been to Tamil Nadu on some work grew suspicious after his wife did not answer calls on the phone. He requested the neighbours to inform his wife about his repeated phone calls.
On peeping through the window, the neighbours found Shwetha hanging from the ceiling fan. They alerted the police immediately.
In a purported death note, Shwetha has stated that no one was responsible for her death, police added.
