JOIN USMohammed Uzaif, the boy who was assaulted by his mathematics teacher at St Mary’s Public School, will start attending school in January, according to his father, Mohammed Fayaz. Uzaif is undergoing treatment right now.
Parents and relatives of the boy visited the school on Thursday and the authorities informed them that the teacher has been terminated from service. Another school which is facing charges of corporal punishment, Daisy Nursery in Whitefield, has remained closed.
The caretaker had branded six students with hot iron. James Ambat, a senior member of the school management said, “The school remained closed because of a riot-like situation in the surrounding areas surrounding the school.
People even threatened to burn down the school.” He said that the parents of children stuyding in the play school were keen on holding a meeting with the people in the locality.
