Riding on the back of good performances from Sujith and Ravi Kumar, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) notched up a facile 3-0 victory over MEG in the third phase of the inaugural edition of the Karnataka Volley League at the Municipal grounds here on Tuesday.

BSNL, who came into this match after having posted a hard-fought five-set win over DYSS in their late match on Monday night, were too hot for the Sappers to handle as they secured a comfortable 25-21, 26-24, 25-17 victory.

Bipin and Arul Selvam were the pick of the players for MEG.

In the day’s second match, Karnataka State Police held off a valiant fight from Department of Youth Services and Sports.

After pushing them to the edge in the first set, DYSS claimed the second set but they could not sustain the fight as KSP won 26-24, 16-25, 26-24, 25-15.

Nagesh, Ravindra and Bhagyara were in their element for KSP, while Bharath, Ganesh and Suraj G Nayak excelled for DYSS. BSNL had won the second phase of the tournament, while Army Service Corps clinched the first phase.
