3 men gang rape 40-yr-old
Yet another atrocity in Delhi, two nabbed
Another shocking incident of rape came to light in the Capital on Friday.
A 40-year-old woman from north-east Delhi’s Welcome said she was gang raped in her house by three men on Wednesday. Two of the accused have been arrested, but police are yet to nab the third person.
Police said she lives with her family at Janta Colony and was acquainted with the accused.
“She was allegedly raped when she was alone in the house on Wednesday evening,” a police officer said.
Sources said two of the accused Gaffar, 45, and Alam, 46, used to be her neighbours, and they had befriended her family. They used to visit her house regularly.
She claimed that Gaffar and Alam came to her house along with another person on Wednesday. Finding her alone, the three men — armed with knives — held her hostage.
“They allegedly took turns to rape her,” said the officer.
Before they left, they threatened her not to tell the incident to anyone. She informed her family members when they returned home late on Wednesday, following which they got in touch with Welcome police station. She was taken for a medical examination.
“A case was lodged after her medical examination at Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital confirmed rape. Her statement was also recorded,” the official said.
After the arrests of Gaffar and Alam’ police are looking for the third accused.
