In a move to provide better safety for women in NCR, vehicles with tinted glasses will not be allowed in the parking of malls in Noida, said Praveen Kumar, senior superintendent of police Gautam Budh Nagar on Saturday.

“To stop the nuisance of tinted glasses on private vehicles we have not only launched a drive to challan such vehicles but have also issued instructions to all malls to disallow such vehicles in their parking,” said Kumar. This will discourage people from using tinted glasses.
He said the order will be strictly implemented across the district. The authorities of
neighbouring district of Ghaziabad had also issued a similar order on Friday.

The Noida traffic police have impounded 20 buses and challaned 70 buses with tinted glasses on Saturday. The school bus staff – driver and conductor — has been instructed to get their police verification done and will have to get an Identity card issued from the school.

“Now drivers and conductors of school buses will have to carry identity cards and produce it to police when asked. Also, there is need to check the criminal records, if any, of these people,” said Kumar speaking to Deccan Herald.

He added that ideally, police will like the driver and conductor to have a dress code to identify them easily. But it will take some time. “Besides, any bus past 15 years has been instructed to be impounded immediately,” he added.
