As the countdown begins for 2013, plans are already afoot to welcome the new year with some great shows and more partying.

Even 2012, on its part, was packed with some great national and international music shows which gave keen music lovers a lot to dance to.

The Indian music fan had good reason to cheer with more and more international acts coming to India. Delhi in particular, became the hotspot for numerous A-listers from Hollywood actors to singers.

One of the most well-known international pop icons who made headlines on her visit here was Lady Gaga. In Delhi for four days she grabbed eyeballs for her ‘namaste’, her dressing sense and her tribute to India when she sported her tricoloured hair.

The world famous DJ David Guetta performed in Gurgaon. The 44-year-old began with No Getting Over You and then went on to some interesting mixes of his popular tracks such as Love Is Gone, Without You, Give Me Everything Tonight and Sexy Bitch. Another international name that made news was DJ Afrojack, who performed in an electronic music festival in Noida.

Get Busy singer and Kingston-born rapper Sean Paul too paid a visit and added to the increasing list of foreign celebs. On his maiden trip here, Sean Paul made news as much for his music as for his entourage which included a chef, a personal massage therapist and 50 different jackets!

But the one who really garnered attention and an uproarious welcome was the Spanish sensation Enrique Iglesias. The Grammy winner created an unprecedented stir when he landed in Delhi. Dressed casually in jeans, a t-shirt with his trademark cap completing the look, Enrique made his fans go crazy when he sang popular numbers like Tonight I’m Lovin’ You, Rhythm Divine, Bailamos, Escape, Tired of Being Sorry, Just Wanna Be With You, I Like It, I Like How It Feels and Hero, driving crowds mad.

What capped it all was a ‘rocking’ performance by Guns N’ Roses. They provoked the crowd by playing well-known hits like Welcome To The Jungle, Mr. Brownstone/It’s So Easy, Estranged and Rocket Queen mostly taken from the band’s seminal album, Appetite for Destruction.

India actually became a hotspot for international celebs with more and more stars stopping by. The international brigade truely enthralled us in 2012, and has certainly geared us up for more action, come 2013.
