Gaurav, Saurav win
Gaurav Nandrajog and Harinder Sandhu registered straight-game victories on the opening day of the Bangalore Invitational Squash tournament at the Karnataka Badminton Association (KBA) courts on Friday.
In the first match, Nandrajog got past Deepak Mishra 11-9, 11-7, 11-2 while Sandhu defeated Vikas Jhangra 11-9, 11-6, 11-6.
Nandrajog and Mishra fought a close battle in the first two games with scores going level all the way before the former edged ahead at crucial moments. In the third game, Nandrajog was in complete control to claim the game and match at 11-2.
In another match, fancied Saurav Ghosal of Kolkata eased to a 11-4, 11-8, 11-7 win over Ravi Dixit, who just managed to offer a token resistance in the second and third sets of the match.
