Comic relief

An English comedy film The Trotsky will be screened. Directed by Jacob Tierney, the film has won two Genies (the Canadian Oscars) including for the Best Original Screenplay.

Reel life

Enjoy a film based on the true story of a girl living in a modest part of San Jose, Costa Rica. The Spanish film with English sub-titles, Gestation (in English) will be screened as part of Costa Rica film series. Venue: Instituto Cervantes, 48, Hanuman Road, Connaught Place, on May 27. Time: 4:30 pm. Entry free and seating on first-come first-served basis.

Issue based

Watch Virus & Priceless, a film  dealing with a youth who is hard-pressed for money and indulges in a road rage brawl. Directed by Dr Sunita Saha, the film explores the theme of alienation, loneliness, wonted deceit and class abuse. It depicts the paradox between a man’s desires to gain control over his destiny conflicting with the mysterious ways of working of the forces of nature.

Venue: India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, on May 27. Time: 7 pm. Entry free and seating is on first-come first-served basis.
