Raj Babbar, Dimple file nominations
Film star turned politician and Congress nominee Raj Babbar and Samajwadi Party (SP) supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav’s daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav on Wednesday filed their nomination papers from the Ferozabad Lok Sabha seat in UP where bypoll will be held on November 7.
AICC general secretary Digvijai Singh, UP Congress chief Reeta Bahuguna Joshi and other senior party leaders accompanied Babbar during the filing of the nomination papers.
Speaking to reporters later, Babbar expressed confidence that the people of the constituency would support him as only the Congress could ensure development of the state and country.
Earlier, Dimple also filed her nomination. She was accompanied by SP general secretary Amar Singh, and her husband Akhilesh Yadav. The bypoll was necessitated by the resignation of Akhilesh Yadav who was also elected from Kannauj Lok Sabha seat.
The constituency is all set to witness a four-cornered contest with the Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party, BJP and the SP fielding candidates.
