A woman was admitted to hospital here after she was allegedly abducted, gang-raped and then dumped on the roadside, police said Monday.

The woman, a nurse from Punjab's Moga district, is in her early 20s and alleges that she was also filmed by her attackers. She was found on the Bathinda-Dabwali road, 20 km from here, Sunday evening, a police official said, adding that some motorists informed them about what had happened.

Doctors at the civil hospital here said that her medical  examination showed that she was sexually assaulted.

Police officials investigating the case said that the  victim had told them that she had gone to Chandigarh, about 230 km from here, on Friday for a  job as a nurse in a private hospital.

"As she was standing near the inter-state bus terminus  (ISBT) in Sector 43, a Maruti Swift car stopped near her and asked for  directions. The victim alleged that two men and a woman were seated in the car  and she was pulled inside by them.

"She claims that she was given an injection  and fell unconscious. When she regained consciousness, she saw the men making  her MMS. She alleged that she was gang-raped by these men," a police official said.

The victim was being treated for her injuries at the  hospital. "Though traumatised, the victim is stable," a doctor at the civil  hospital said.
