Rowdy shot at, nabbed in Bangalore suburbs

A rowdy was shot and injured by police when he attacked them with a weapon as they were trying to nab him near Kanakapura in the city's suburbs, today, police sources said.
Police said they received information that Mohammad Dastagir had visited an under-construction building at JC Industrial Area in Yelachanahalli and intercepted him.
However, he attacked policeman Abhijeet with a dagger, following which Inspector Ashok Kumar retaliated and opened fire, injuring him in his left leg, police said.
Both Dastagir and Abhijeet have been admitted to Victoria Hospital, police said.
Dastagir has been involved in murder, theft, burglary and other cases, police said.
