The High Court, on Wednesday, directed Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and Lake Development Authority (LDA) to file a technical feasibility report whether they can restore the Pantharapalya lake.
Hearing a plea by residents of Pramod Layout seeking to develop a portion of the lake bed into a lung space, the division bench comprising acting Chief Justice K Sreedhar Rao and Justice Abdul Nazeer directed the BBMP and LDA to find out how much of the lake land has been encroached and how much is remaining.
The bench asked the BBMP to conduct a survey and report about it. It has also directed the government to file a technical feasible report whether they can restore the lake.
