A married couple duped several unemployed youths of crores on the pretext of providing them jobs, police said.

Dharmesh Doshi and Ashu Doshi of east Patel Nagar were arrested for cheating, deputy commissioner of police (north-west) P Karunakaran said.

Police said in December, Nipun Sharma and Nipun Juneja registered a complaint with Subhash Place police station. They said they were looking for jobs of pilot. In August, they found that Venture Overseas, a consultancy firm provides overseas aviation jobs.
They contacted Dharmesh, CEO of Venture Overseas at Netaji Subhash Place in Pitampura. He conducted written exams for pilot recruitment and his wife interviewed the successful candidates.

On August 6, Dharmesh asked them for the initial payment. Sharma and Juneja paid Rs 8.81 lakh each and signed documents of security stating that if Dharmesh fails to get the letter of intent within 90 working days, he would return the money with no delays. Dharmesh said their papers were being processed and they will get jobs.

But the appointment never took place. Dharmesh gave post-dated cheques to Sharma and Juneja. But when they deposited the cheques in the bank, they found that Dharmesh had requested to stop payment to the cheques.

Police also got a complaint from ministry of external affairs alleging that Dharmesh Hasmukhraj Doshi, who proclaims himself as CEO of Indian Subsidiary of Venture Overseas, has office at Netaji Subhash Place in Pitampura. It is an unregistered agency, which has allegedly deployed 170 people, with technical qualification and diploma in aircraft maintenance on tourist visas to Malaysia in two batches in February and May to work with M/s Venture Overseas Consulting Service in Malaysia, where the workers were not provided with work permits and were sent to detention home.

Police found that Dharmesh was arrested in Hyderabad last month and was in jail.  Police after checking the company’s account found that Ashu was an authorised signatory along with her husband Dharmesh. Ashu was arrested after conducting raid at her residence on January 9.
