In a joint operation, Mangalore and Arasikere police on Friday night arrested three men who were smuggling ganja worth Rs 17 lakh from Bangalore to Mangalore.
On a tip-off, sleuths of the Corps of Detectives in Mangalore and the Arasikere police intercepted a car from Tiptur at the Kanthenahalli tank bund on the outskirts of the City. On inspection, they found several packets of the banned substance in the car, and arrested Farooq of Shimoga, Krishna Reddy of Tiptur and Ramesh of Bhadravathi.
Police said the three had procured ganja at Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh and was transporting it from Bangalore to Mangalore.
