JOIN USAs many as 4,570 cases are pending before the Lokayu- kta, the anti-corruption ombudsman in the State, as on February 4 this year, according to the information furnished by the government to the Legislative Council.
In a written reply furnished to a query by Motamma (Congress), the chief minister has said that a total of 3,353 complaints were registered with the Lokayukta during the period between January 1, 2010 and January 31, 2013 while 9,384 cases were filed with the Upa Lokayukta. A total of 20 cases have been registered against the officials working in the Lokayukta.
The government, in its reply to another question stated that nine IAS and IPS officers in the State were facing Lokayukta inquiry. Apart from this, three more officers who have retired from service are also facing probe.
