Udupi police have nabbed two criminals and seized country made pistols loaded with 4 live cartridges and 3 separate cartridges, Rs 30,000 in cash and three cell phones, on Friday.

Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, SP Prawin Pawar informed that Malpe PSI Sampath Kumar and Udupi Circle Inspector S V Girish along with their staff intercepted an Innova car at Kalmadi junction. The vehicle was driven by Gururaj Amin alias Cable Guru of Udupi accompanied by one Imthiaz. On searching, Imthiaz was found carrying a country made pistol loaded with 4 live cartridges. Three cartridges were recovered from the possession of Cable Guru. A sum of Rs 30,000 cash besides two cell phones were also recovered from the car, he said.

Imthiaz from Kukkikatte was hired by Cable Guru to kill Stanley for a supari amount of Rs 6 lakh, of which Rs 40,000 has been paid in advance. Cable Guru procured the pistol through an accomplice of Siraj Hassan a fortnight ago and handed over to Imthiaz to execute the murder. Two test firing has been made at Perampalli and Sheeribeedu by the criminals. The pistol will be sent to forensic laboratory for examination, he informed.
