Avantha Group bags Rs 239-cr order in Netherlands

Avantha Group company Crompton Greaves (CG) today said it has bagged an order worth Rs 239 crore from Netherlands-based firm Van Oord Offshore Wind Projects for executing a project.

"CG, along with its consortium partners, has been awarded a Rs 239 crore contract for design, deliver and install high voltage offshore substation in the Netherlands," a company statement said.

The Luchterduinen offshore wind farm is located 23 km from the Dutch coast between Noordwijk and Zandvoort and has an installed production capacity of 129 MW. The 43 wind turbines will generate green electricity for nearly 150,000 households, the statement said.

CG will design, engineer and manufacture the overall electrical system. The delivery will include all electrical engineering work, transformers, etc.

The project is expected to be completed by August, 2015.

"We look forward to working with Van Oord Offshore and thank them for the trust placed in CG. The development of reliable and cost-effective grid connection solutions for the rapidly growing Renewable sector is one of the key priorities for CG," CG CEO and Managing Director Laurent Demortier said.

CG is engaged in the management and application of electrical energy.
