‘BBMP has flouted rules’
Bangalore, Oct 25, DHNS:

Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy on Sunday alleged that the BBMP has recently called tenders for various infrastructure projects worth nearly Rs 13,000 crore by throwing all rules to winds.

Addressing reporters, he said he will lodge a complaint with the Governor and the Karnataka Lokayukta in this regard, seeking a thorough investigation into it. The BBMP has on September 29 invited pre-qualification applications from companies to undertake projects like road widening, asphalting, signal-free traffic movement, remodelling of storm water drains and repair, construction of markets, against the rules. Besides, the cost fixed by the BBMP for each of these projects is exorbitant and “aimed at looting tax-payers’ money,” he alleged.

However, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagar Palike has categorically refuted the allegations made by Kumaraswamy saying that the allegations are ‘false, misleading the public and baseless’.
