Scrutiny panel clears 75 papers in Chikmagalur

April 20 is last day for withdrawal of nomination papers

A total of 73 nominations submitted by the candidates from various parties and independent candidates in the five constituencies of Chikmagalur district, for the upcoming assembly elections have been found in proper order.

Following the scrutiny of nomination papers on Thursday, it was found that 20 nominations are in order in Chikmagalur constituency.

They are: Afsar Pasha ( NCP), S L Dharmegowda (JD(S)), C T Ravi ( BJP), K S Shanthegowda (Congress), Dwarakish (Hindusthan Nirman Dal), K B Vedamurthy (KJP), Suresh (CPI(ML)Redstar), T Harish (Janada Dal(U)) and independent candidates Afsar Pasha, D S Ashok, Uddappa, B M Kalleshwar, U K Gurushanthappa, Dharmegowda, Muniya Bovi, Ramesh, K Revanna, Vijayakumar, M M Sudhir, Snake Naresh Kumar are in the election arena of Chikmagalur constituency.


In Kadur constituency, 12 nominations have been found to be in order. They are: Biroor Devraj (BJP), K B Mallikarjun (Congress), Y S V Datta (JD(S)), K S Praksh (KJP), Kemparaju (BSR Congress), G M Madhu (Loksatta party), Kumar Naik (Welfare Party of India) and independent candidates G K Girish, K R Gangadharappa, Shivarudrappa, K H Nagaraju and T Janardhana Rao.

In Tarikere constituency, 23 nomination papers have been found to be in order. They are: Avinash (BJP),  G H Shrinivas (Congress), T R Nagaraj (JD(S)), T S Jeevaraj (Samajavadi Janatha Party), D S Suresh (KJP), K Manjunath (BSR Congress), D C Suresh (Sarvodaya Karnataka Paksha), and independent candidates H S Neelakanthappa, B R Neelakanthappa, Anasooya, A Suresh, B Thimmaiah, V Jayaram, Kantharaju, H M Gopi, Theerthappa, D R Paramesha Naika, G Manjunath, A R K Shrinivas, Mehaboob, H Omkarappa, T S Suresh, H P Ashok are competing in the constituency.

In Sringeri, nine nominations have been found to be in order. They are: D N Jeevaraj (BJP), T D Rajegowda (Congress), T C Rajendra (JD(S)), Umesh (CPI (ML) Red Star), G R Poornesh (BSR) and independent candidates Abraham, K C Prakash, C E Basavaraju and K V Mahesh.

In Mudigere constituency, nine nominations are in order. They are: M P Kumaraswami (BJP),  B N Chandrappa (Congress), B B Ningaiah (JD(S)), U B Manjaiah (Bahujana Samaja Paksha), Saati Sundaresh (CPI), Kumar (CPI(ML)), and independent candidates B K Gopal, Nanjunda and B M Ramesh.

Rejected

The nominations of Mudigere candidate H Manjunath, Chikmagalur candidate Annavelu (BSR Congress), BJP second candidate N Ravi and Shankaralingegowda (Loksatta) have been rejected. No nominations have been rejected in Tarikere, Kadur and Sringeri.
