Are the older actress in the fear of being dethroned by the younger lot? In Bollywood, actors usually have a long shelf life.

 But actresses bow out as soon as they reach their 30s, as it’s a tough challenge to keep pace with the younger brigade that is storming the industry with a vengeance.
For instance, Sushmita Sen who is going to be 35 now, does not have many options as far as her career goes. Her recent release Do Knot Disturb too, saw her doing a very small role, though she worked a lot for this film by first gaining nine kilos and then losing the same. Perhaps that’s the reason why she has channelled her attention to her production house and is trying to make her own films.
Even Aishwarya Rai is pretty serious about her career. The Bachchan bahu is turning 36 but has some big films to keep herself busy. But the way Katrina Kaif, Deepika Padukone, Asin and Sonam Kapoor are strengthening their hold in tinsel town, there is every reason for Ash to get insecure.
According to sources, Aishwarya is even delaying her pregnancy to save her throne in
Bollywood.
But then, aging is a process one can neither hold nor hide. So till film-makers come up with interesting and different scripts to accommodate older actresses, the Sushmitas, Preitys and Aishwaryas do not have an option. But let the new brigade take on from where these ladies have left.
