Rajajinagar post huge victory

Ananth, Mudassiruddin produce fine displays

TK Ananth’s six-wicket haul and Mudassiruddin’s unbeaten half-century spurred Rajajinagar Cricketers to a 168-run victory over Dooravani Cricketers in the KSCA Group I, Division III tournament for the Sri Nassur Memorial Shield here.

Batting first, Rajajinagar posted a competitive 255/9 in 55 overs with Mudassiruddin’s unconquered 50 as the top score.

Contributions from Manjunath (46), Raghuveer (39 n.o.) and Sri Karthik (36) also helped Rajajinagar’s cause. Karan was the wrecker-in-chief for Dooravani, scalping a fine 6/77 while Ritesh picked up 2/63.

Chasing a challenging 256 for victory, Dooravani were sent packing for 87 in 46.4 overs. Ananth was the pick of the bowlers for Rajajinagar, taking a superb 6/30 and Raghuveer chipped in with a fine 4/22 as the victors came away with four points.

City Cricketers (1): 159 all out in 54.1 overs (Hemanth 39; Nisheet Doshi 5-55, Subramanya 2-12) lt to Cavaliers Cricket Club: 161/3 in 29.4 overs (Damodar 58, Sudhir 34 n.o., RV Prashanth 30 n.o.; Ravi Kiran 2-34).

Jayanagar United Cricketers: 206 all out in 51.5 overs (Bharath 55, Adithya Reddy 27, Raghavendra 40; Pavan 2-28, Gangadhar 2-60, Sunil KN 2-65, Sunil K 2-39) bt Jupiter Cricketers Association: 139 all out in 41 overs (Kiran 25, Pawan 34; Adithya Reddy 5-38).

Vijaya Cricket Club: 123 all out in 43 overs (Ajay 2-25, Praveen 4-43, Mallikarjun 2-23) lt to Bangalore Sports Club: 125/3 in 29.3 overs (Uday Kumar TG 34, Manu 35, Thosh 33 n.o.).

Select Cricketers: 304/7 decl in 53 overs (Mahesh 29, Manohar 89, Suhas 79, Babu R 53 n.o.; Kevin 2-27, Prasanna 2-90) drew with Wadiyar Cricket Club: 146/9 in 44 overs (Swamy 2-43, Dilip Singh 2-11, Mahesh 2-35).

Chetan stars for Jolly

Chetan’s all-round performance and handsome batting efforts from Nikhil AS and Mashooq Hussain helped Jolly Cricketers collect three points in their drawn match against Standard Cricket Club in the KSCA Group I, Division II tournament for MAT Acharya Shield here.

Standard CC, batting first, were all out for 273 in 62.3 overs with Jagmohan Singh’s 71 the highlight of the innings while Chetan scalped 6/97 for Jolly.
In reply, Jolly were bowled out for 364 for a first innings lead of 91 runs with Nikhil’s 91 and Hussain’s 89 aiding the total. Standard CC were restricted to 179/1 in 37 overs in their second essay.
