Palazzo pants are back in vogue.

Who wears the pants here?

The interesting feature about palazzo pants is that they resemble a slinky floor-length skirt, swirling around the heels, owing to their wide hems.

Though not a rule, gossamer fabrics like chiffon or georgette are the ideal materials for this outfit. You can opt for pleasant hues like lemon yellow, lime green, pearl pink, pale blue or you could choose colours from the other end of the spectrum like classic black, cobalt blue, emerald green or deep purple. It's advisable to get your outfit tailored. Embellished with zardosi, spangles, seed pearls or beads, it can transform into party wear. Just remember to insist on good quality lining material, which gives strength to the fabric.

If you’re aiming for a simple look, team up the pants with a high-hemmed short top with an exquisite neckline and a plunging back. If you have toned arms, opt for a sexy sleeveless top. The adventurous can choose tank-tops, tube-tops or bustiers. A stole or duppata completes the look. Midriff-baring short tops, teamed with palazzo pants, are a hot fashion statement in teen fashion circles today.

Since palazzo pants are ultra feminine, they lend themselves to all kinds of accessories — glass, beads, metal. Bring on those bracelets, layered neck-chains and chandelier earrings to complement your outfit. And, don't forget your stylish evening bag. Show off your feet in wedges, platforms, stilettos, or open-toed heeled shoes.
