Drizzle ahead of the first IPL match here between Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Daredevils Thursday warmed the spirits of cricket fans as they can now watch the ensuing sporting encounter in a pleasant atmosphere.

The Met Office in Shimla said the mild rain in Dharamsala and nearby areas is due to local weather conditions.

"The weather will mostly remain dry across the state. There are chances of mild cloudy conditions in some areas in the state, including Dharamsala," an official of the Met Office here told IANS.

Meanwhile, Shimla, located at a height of 7,000 feet above sea level Thursday recorded a low of 15.3 degrees Celsius, while Dharamsala, the venue of Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI Punjab at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) stadium here, saw 20.6 degrees Celsius.

Picturesque tourist resort Manali recorded a low of 8 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature in Kalpa was 7.6 degrees Celsius.

Dharamsala and Shimla saw the maximum temperature Wednesday at 31.2 and 25.6 degrees Celsius, respectively.
