JD(S) to protest against anti-people policies of Govt

Last Updated 31 October 2009, 17:12 IST

Speaking at a press conference in the town, here on Saturday,  said Anjenappa, the State government has not fulfiled any promises in the past 18 months and the people are disillusioned by the rule.  He alleged that no development works are taken up in the taluk.

The poor have not been given ration cards and around 15,000 beneficiaries who had registered their names, who had to open bank account for the purpose, are not sanctioned ration cards and new list is being prepared.

This is nothing but gross injustice to the beneficiaries, he alleged. It is almost two years since 220 kv power station at an outlay of Rs 70 crore is sanctioned to the taluk.

Power project neglected
The minister in charge, instead of locating the required 12-acre land is neglecting the power project, thereby deceiving the people, Anjenappa alleged.
The National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS) is being not implemented in its true spirit and the beneficiaries are not benefited from the scheme, making it a total failure in Pavagad taluk.

Speaking on the occasion, JD(S) leader L S Narasareddy alleged that the District Credit Co-operative Bank has not paid the farmers the insurance money even for two months after the crop insurance fund was released.
Farmers in Pavagad taluk are unable to save their crops due to power cut even though good rains has resulted in the filling up of all the dams to capacity, he said.
The march being planned on Monday is to protest against the injustice by the State government.
Several leaders were present at the press meet.
