They were our men, admits Sanatan

Panaji, Oct 31,dhns:

The right-wing Hindu organisation Sanatan Sanstha owned up that the two men arrested on Saturday were members of their organisation.

A press statement from the religious group said that Vinayak Patil and Vinay Talekar arrested in connection with the crude bomb planted at Sancoale, Verna, were doing spiritual practice under the guidance of the Sanatan Sanstha and occasional seva (service).
The organisation, which has been under the ATS scanner for its involvement in the Thane and Vashi blasts last year and the September communal riots in Sangli and Miraj, sought to distance itself from its members saying it denounced their anti-social act.

The police said Vinayak Patil, a driver with Sanatan and Talekar, a close associate of Malgonda Patil, believed to be the mastermind of the conspiracy, often stayed overnight at the ashram. Their visits to the ashram had become more frequent in the days leading to the blast, and we know they stayed overnight in Malgonda’s room, SP A V Deshpande said.
