In an open letter to the Defence Minister, copies of which were made available to the press, he said that to decongest traffic, BBMP planned to take up construction and widening of many roads and bridges and put in place a mammoth storm water drain to clear rainwater. “These projects are essential for smooth flow of traffic and development of City,” the letter stressed. Some stretches of land required for the purpose fell under defence property, it said.
