Minister launches Mangalore Today portal

Speaking after launching the Mangalore Today website www.mangaloretoday.com, he said that people have a lot of respect and trust for the magazine that has come a long way in the last 13 years.

Chairman of Karnataka Bank Ananthakrishna, who inaugurated the Features section of the website, in his address appreciated Mangalore Today for not glorifying news. The glorification is a technique resorted to by the TV channels for popularity, which instead of helping the society is creating uncertainties, he said and urged the media organisations to realise the mistake.

Chancellor of Nitte University N Vinaya Hegde in his presidential address lamented on the distorted picture of Mangalore available to the people in exile and hoped that Mangalore Today will show the true colours of the city to the world outside and also help bring in more investment to the city. Earlier, he inaugurated the National and International sections of the website while Corporation Bank General Manager B R Bhat inaugurated the Tit bit section. Chairman of Magnum Intergrafiks Sudhir P Ghate inaugurated the profile section of the website. The website was developed by ACIES Soft, Mangalore.
Mangalore Today Editor V U George, Executive Editor Mahesh Nayak and others were present.
