Health inspector in Lokayukta trap

Lokayukta Police on Monday caught senior Health Inspector of Banaswadi Range while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20,000. Shivanna had initially demanded Rs 25,000 from the complainant Vijaya Kumar for issuing No Objection Certificate (NOC) of Trade Licence pertaining to his engineering workshop at Hanumanthnagar.

However, after negotiation, Shivanna reduced the amount to Rs 20,000, Vijaya said in the complaint lodged with the Lokayukta Police.

Shivanna was trapped by Lokayukta police, while he was receiving the money near a fast food joint in NR Colony. The police have arrested the accused and seized the bribe amount.
