JSW win thriller

Bangalore, Nov 2, DHNS:

Spurred by a good show from spiker Vishwanath, Jindal Steel Works posted a hard-fought 3-2 win over ITI in the State senior ‘A’ Division volleyball league at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium here on Monday.

JSW warded off a strong challenge from their rivals to prevail 25-17, 22-25, 22-25, 25-22, 22-20 in a thriller.

Jindal took the first set 25-17 but squandered the advantage to handle the second and third sets to JSW. ITI’s Nakul and Mahantesh spiked brilliantly during that period.
JSW jumped to a 16-7 lead in the third set but ITI rallied through Nakul.
However, JSW’s Pradeep Kumar and Ragavendra had other ideas as the two front-liners helped their side to a 14-2 lead in the fourth.
ITI levelled scores at 17-17 with good service from Mahantesh but JSW held onto claim the fourth set.

With the scores at 2-2, JSW made a confident in the decider. Both teams were tied at 15-all before JSW raised their game to couple of notches to seal the victory.
Other results: MEG bt Postal: 25-22, 25-12, 25-20.
