Central university of Karnataka’s school of behavioural sciences invites applications for admissions to MSc in Psychology, MSW, and PhD in Psychology & Social Work programs for the academic year 2013 - 14. Common entrance examination will be conducted at 31 centers across the country on 13 th July, 2013.
For admissions to MSc Psychology and MSW programmes, students aged between 20 - 24 years who have completed under graduate education from a recognized Indian or foreign university (foreign recognition to be as per AIU list) in any discipline and secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and who have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the entrance test conducted by the University are eligible. Preference would be given to those possessing BSW degree for admissions to MSW course.
For admissions to Ph.D programme in Psychology and Social work, students with M Phil or Masters’ degree in Psychology / Social Work, of the University or a degree recognized by the University for this Purpose or its equivalent in the relevant or allied subject with at least 55% marks and who have scored a minimum of 40% marks in the entrance test to be conducted by the University are eligible.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) had earlier decided to exempt graduates / post graduates with specified percentage of marks and Intermediate level Examination passed students of the Cost Accountants of India and he Institute of Company Secretaries of India from passing the Common Proficiency Test (CPT). Due to different nomenclature of papers in various Universities and all papers not carrying 100 marks, the Institute, in order to remove the hardships faced by students seeking direct entry into Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course, has decided to cover the following category of students for being eligible to direct entry. Graduate or post graduate in Commerce having secured an aggregate of 50% of marks or its equivalent grade in the examination conducted by any recognized University (including Open University) by studying any 3 papers carrying a minimum of 50 marks in a semester or year and cumulatively 100 marks or more marks over the entire duration of the course in each paper out of Accounting, Auditing, Mercantile Laws, Corporate Laws, Economics, Management (including Financial Management), Taxation (including Direct Tax Laws and Indirect Tax Laws), Costing, Business Administration or Management Accounting; or similar to the title of these papers with different nomenclatures. Further, the Institute has decided to approve the subjects, University-wise, as and when the issue of nomenclature arises.
The department of foreign languages, Bangalore University invites applications for certificate, diploma, higher diploma and advanced diploma courses in French, German, Japanese, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian, Finnish and Arabic languages for the academic year 2013 - 2014. The admissions will extend through 10th June and 10th July, and 11-15 July with a fine of Rs 200 on first come first serve basis. B Tech courses
Apeejay Stya University invites applications for its 4-year B Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering for the year 2013-2014. Merit-based scholarships are available. Courses for Indian students
Newcastle University, UK, has introduced six new post graduate and research programs for Indian students. The new courses introduced are architectural theory and criticism, cardiovascular science in health and diseases, cross cultural communication, neuro-muscular diseases, rail freight and logistics, and sustainable agriculture and food security. These courses can be pursued full time over a period of 12 months. An applicant whose first language is not English is required to appear for IELTS exam and score according to the course prerequisites. The courses will start from September 2013.The University has also announced eight news scholarships (NUIS PG) worth £ 2000 for high achieving Indian students commencing their post graduate studies in September 2013. It is also offering scholarship (NUIPS) worth £1,500 for international students based on merit and a good English score.
