Mangalore Varsity chemistry dept to hold international seminar on November 5

Mangalore University Department of Chemistry will organise a 3 day international conference on Recent Advances in Industrial Electrochemical Science and Technology (ICRAIEST-2009).


Mangalore University Registrar Prof K Chinnappa Gowda addressing a news conference on Tuesday said that the programme will be inaugurated on November 5 at 9.30 am at the Science faculty building quadrangle by Reliance Industries Mumbai Procurement and Project Group President B Narayan.

National Institute for Materials Science Japan Prof Hideyuki Murakami and CECRI Tamilnadu Director Dr Yajnaraman will be the chief guests. Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof K M Kaveriappa will preside.
The valedictory programme will be held on November 7 at 12.30 pm in the old senate hall wherein IISC Bangalore SSCU Chairman Prof A K Shukla will deliver the valedictory address. Leibniz-Institut fur Oberflachenmodifizierung Germany Prof Stephan Mandl will be the chief guest while Mangalore University VC Prof K M Kaveriappa will preside.

The Registrar said that the over 125 delegates, both academician and industrialists will participate in the conference.

Basic electrochemistry, Industrial Corrosion and control, Electroanalysis, electrochemical material Science, electrochemical power sources, electrometallurgy and various other relevant topics will be covered during the conference by eminent speakers and scientists, he said.

Chairman Prof J Ishwar Bhat and Secretary Prof B Narayana were present.
