‘Education a tool for social mobility’

DCC Bank Chairman K N Rajanna called upon the Nayak community to educate their children and bring them to the main stream of the society.



He was speaking after inaugurating the taluk-level Valmiki jayanti and pratibha puraskara programme here on Wednesday.

He said that the community should be strong economically, educationally, politically and called upon the women in the community to work in the interest of the community and to educate their children.
Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council V S Ugrappa said that the community is known for its contribution in the welfare of the state. The community had played a major role in construction of lakes, he added.

He advised the young generation of the community to take the present crisis as a challenge and strive for the all round welfare of them self, community and the state. He also suggested the youths to contribute their mite to the society and be a role model for others.

Taluk Panchayat president V J Hanumantappa, District Bank Director Lakshminarayana, Agriculture officer J V Subramanya, Huliraju, Dr Anjan Kumar Valmiki, Chief Officer Anil Kumar, retired head master Siddagangappa, Taluk Nayak Sangha General Secretary Huchanna, Rangashamaiah, Indiramma, V H Roy, Town Municipal Council Member Timmaraju, Principal Chinnatimmaiah, Mount View School Secretary G S Jagadeesh Kumar and others were present.

Students felicitated

Students from the taluk who scored highest marks in SSLC and PUC exams were felicitated on the occasion.
Taluk Nayak Sangha president  G T Eranna Nayak presided over the function. Lavanya, B N Nagaraju, Hanumantarayappa, Doddaiah and others were present.
