Henriques becomes fifth Aussie casualty
Hyderabad, Nov 4, dhns:

Moises Henriques on Wednesday became the fifth Australian player to return home due to injury during the seven-match one-day series against India.

The New South Wales all-rounder suffered a right hamstring injury during the fourth one-dayer at Mohali. Victoria all-rounder Andrew McDonald will fly out to India to join the squad, a Cricket Australia statement said. However, in Thursday’s fifth one-dayer, all-rounder Adam Voges will most likely replace Henriques.

“Moises complained of some discomfort after the fourth ODI in Mohali. He had an MRI scan when we arrived in Hyderabad which showed signs of injury to the right hamstring,” the statement read.

“The medical staff believe the injury will not recover sufficiently for him to participate in the last week of the tour and therefore we have decided he will return to Australia where he will continue his treatment,” the statement added.
CA has also confirmed that NSW paceman Burt Cockley will join the squad in place of Peter Siddle, who had returned home due to a side strain on Tuesday. Apart from Siddle, Australia have already lost the services of pacer Brett Lee, all-rounder James Hopes and wicketkeeper/opener Tim Paine due to various injuries.

Tim Nielsen, the Australian coach, said, “There is every reason to be upset that Moises would not be there. In the ideal team, we have James Hopes, Moises batting at number six and seven along the lines. At the moment, we don’t have those players. We have to make a few decisions with Moises getting injured.”
