Gurgaon, July 15, 2013 (IANS):

A 30-year-old widower and father of two children was booked in Gurgaon district of Haryana for raping his 50-year-old mother, police said Monday.

Gopi, of village Siwari near Farukh Nagar, some 15 km from Gurgaon city, was identified as the rapist. The crime occurred Saturday.

Gopi's mother, a widow, said in her complaint that she had been living with her son  and his two minor daughters.

The victim said her daughter-in-law had died five years ago.

Gopi had told his mother that he wanted to discuss something important with her Saturday night, and raped her, a senior police officer said.

The victim informed the sarpanch of her village, Chander, about the incident. It was the sarpanch who took the matter to the police.

A case was registered at Farukh Nagar police station.

The accused has been absconding since the crime.
