Swedish firms bet big on ties with India
New Delhi, PTI, Nov 7:

Betting big on India, Swedish companies are exploring the healthcare and life science space for investment and collaboration.

“When it comes to healthcare, we could have more collaboration. I also visited the Apollo hospital which was fantastic with the latest equipment and export worlwide,” Swedish Trade Minister Ewa Bjorling today said, inaugurating the Swedish Trade Council office here.

She said the number of Swedish companies who are doing business in India is increasing. “There are more than 130 companies which have permanent presence in India and 1,100 companies, which are doing business with Indian firms. They are expected to be more active as they find India as an attractive investment destination,” Bjorling said.

Present on the occasion, Anjali Prasad, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, said, “Our trade partners should also look at investing in India as the dividends are manifold. India also needs technological expertise its trade partners have.”
