3 stone idols unearthed
Bangalore, Nov 7, DH News Service:

Three stone idols of Krishna, Lakshmi and Nandi were unearthed from a road near Kote Anjaneya temple in KR Puram police limits on Saturday morning.

 
The idols were unearthed when BBMP workers were digging the road for laying an underground drainage. The idols were partially damaged. The tahsildar and local MLA visited the spot and collected information about the idols.

Police said that the idols had been handed over to the temple authorities. “We have contacted the archeological department, who will analyse the idols on Sunday.”

Student killed in accident

A final year engineering student from Jain College was killed on the spot in a road accident in High Grounds police limits on Saturday morning.

R Praful (21), who hailed from Bangarpet, was on his way to Malleswaram after attending a function at Shivananda Circle when the accident occurred.

Praful lost control of his bike near Rajiv Gandhi Circle and rammed into a tree.

He sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. His relative, also an engineering student, who was riding pilion, managed to escape unhurt.

Six held

The Wilson Garden police arrested six people for hatching a conspiracy to rob citizens and recovered lethal weapons from them.

The accused are Nazeer of Goripalya, Nayeem of KG Halli, Mohammad Sharif of Murugamulla village in Chintamani taluk, Mohammad Yasin of Tiptur and Sardar Khan of Araskiere.

Based on a tip-off, the police surrounded them in front of a bus stop near Kidwai Hospital on Hosur Road and arrested them.

Thief nabbed

Mahadevapura police nabbed a thief and recovered five bikes worth Rs 2.5 lakh from him. The accused, Biju alias Abdul (44), is a resident of Kittagnur in Hoskote taluk.

Biju was apprehended by the police patrol when he was standing in front of a locked house. When interrogated, Biju confessed that he was planning to burgle the house. Biju was involved in thefts in Hoskote, Ramamurthynagar and Hulimavu police limits.
